Redstone Test Center’s Weapon Centric Cyber Test Capability

The presentation will detail a shift left approach to cyber testing that addresses a threat-based risk management approach. Redstone Test Center is developing a cyber test capability to support the Army and DoD acquisition cycle by evaluating weapon system performance and mission impact at the weapon sub assembly, system and system of system levels. Also addressed will be cyber test tools and applications under development that assist in visualizing and evaluating cyber effects on weapons.

Redstone Test Center
David Elkins works as the Cyber Lead at Redstone Test Center (RTC). He is currently responsible for standing up the cyber team and strategy that will support weapon system development through cyber test and evaluation. The RTC Cyber team supports military weapon developers by providing cyber table top services and component, system and system-of-system cyber test capability to improve the resiliency of Army weapons. Prior to serving as the Cyber Lead, David was the Director of the Environmental and Component Test Directorate comprised of 6 test Divisions and an annual test budget of $50M. David also serves as the lead for the Cyber Huntsville Gov't IPT continuing the history of collaboration in Huntsville between industry and government when we are faced with emerging technical challenges such as cyber.
