2021 National Cyber Summit
During these uncertain and unprecedented times, the NCS organization has been faced with a very difficult decision regarding our 2020 Summit. For the safety and well-being of our attendees and exhibitors, as well as preserving the unprecedented networking opportunities NCS provides, we have postponed the 2020 Summit until June 8-10, 2021.

Session Information

Containing the Cloud
Thursday, June 6, 2019 1:15 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Containers and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes are rapidly being adopted. As security professionals we need to understand the risks and how to protect these systems at a basic level. This talk will focus on the threat landscape for contianer environments and how to mitigate these threats at the kernel level. Being a Cloud Engineer at heart, I'm going to take an engineering perspective and focus mostly on the nuts and bolts of how a container system is put together and we can implement security controls at multiple levels, making life very difficult for an adversary to gain or maintain a foothold in your environment.
