Robert Smith, a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, is a leader within the firm’s defense business with a focus on US Army clients. As leader of Booz Allen’s Army Acquisition and Sustainment business, he specializes in delivering services that improve overall client buying power and efficiency. His key Army customers include the Army Materiel Command (AMC); AMCOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC); Space & Missile Defense Command (SMDC); TACOM LCMC; Army Sustainment Command (ASC); Program Executive Offices supporting the ground vehicle, aviation, and ammunition domains; and the Research, Development, and Engineering Centers (RDEC) affiliated with these organizations. Additionally, he is the firm’s lead market executive to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
A senior executive with over 35 years of defense and federal sector experience, Mr. Smith brings deep operational knowledge and thought leadership to clients by helping them establish, plan, and execute programs of all types and complexity across the entire program or product lifecycle. A retired US Army Reserve Officer and former UH-60 pilot and aviation maintenance officer, Mr. Smith previously held the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager in a professional consulting firm where he supported Army, Air Force, and Navy acquisition clients. Mr. Smith is a United States Military Academy graduate with a B.S. degree in engineering and holds an M.S. degree in engineering technology from Murray State University. He attended the Executive Education Program at Stanford University, as well as the Senior Executive Program at the Columbia University School of Business.
