David Pearson is the Director of the Defense Acquisition University’s Engineering and Technology Center where he is responsible for the acquisition training of the Test and Evaluation, Engineering, Science and Technology Management, Production, Quality and Manufacturing (PQM) and Information Technology career fields. A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, David is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and spent most of his naval career serving at sea as a surface warfare officer. Between ships, he worked in a variety of acquisition billets including new ship construction, Officer in Charge of the Naval Ordnance Lab, White Oak and as the Director of Navy Torpedo Testing. In addition to being DAWIA level III certified in four acquisition career fields, he is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Project Management Professional. David earned an MBA and Masters Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Massachusetts and is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
