Steve Mills is a faculty member at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), DAU South Campus, Huntsville, AL. Steve serves as a professor of Program Management (PM) and the DAU South Cybersecurity Lead. In his role as a faculty member, Steve’s focus is on the PM career field where he helps Defense Acquisition Workforce members achieve success in providing our warfighters with the capabilities required to win on the battlefield. In his role as the DAU South Cybersecurity Lead, Steve provides Cybersecurity training, expertise and consulting to the Defense Acquisition Workforce helping them effectively integrate Cybersecurity into our DoD programs and systems.
Steve finished his military career as a FA53 Information Systems Management Officer serving as the Automation Officer for V Corps. Prior to joining the team at DAU, Steve served as a senior Program Manager at Northrop Grumman Corp working on the Command Post Platform C4ISR program in Huntsville, AL. In addition to being DAWIA level III certified in two acquisition career fields, Steve is also a certified Project Management Professional. A native of Clearwater FL, Steve is a graduate of the Florida State University (BS), Jacksonville State University (MS), Naval War College (MS) and Regis University where he earned an MS in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity in 2015. In his spare time, Steve continues to serve as a Technical Mentor for the Cyber Patriot program helping our youth get involved in Cybersecurity. Steve also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for both Cyber Huntsville and the North Alabama Chapter, Information Systems Security Association (NAC-ISSA).
